VSFCD is responsible for all sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and catch basins within Vallejo and the surrounding unincorporated areas. We are responsible for the treatment and processing of all waters within the collection system, and for the construction and maintenance of sanitary and storm sewers.

 

Flooding

Report blocked street drains or flooding, after the storm has abated, to the District at 644-8949. Many Vallejo locations do not have sidewalks and curbs with gutters. In these areas the street actually acts like a storm drain by carrying water on its surface. These streets might have a significant amount of water on them but they are not considered to be flooding. Please keep in mind that during storm events the District must prioritize incoming calls and may not address surface drainage until after homeowner blockage or backup calls are completed. You are requested to wait with this type of call until after the storm has abated to allow the problems, with possibly overloaded sewer lines, to be resolved.
 

  

 

Sewer Back-up

Call us first! A sewer blockage might be a line that we maintain. Calling us first will help identify the source of the problem and might help you avoid paying a plumber unnecessarily. If the block is in our line, we will come out and fix it at no charge to you.
 

  Call VSFCD at 644-8949 anytime day or night. If there is a main line blockage or obstruction, it will be cleared by the Sanitary District and your drains will resume normal function. If the problem is not in our lines our employee will advise you that the problem may be in your "private" line. You will be advised to contact a private sewer contractor. Private contractors will charge you for their services. They are listed in the phone book under "Sewer Contractors". The Sanitary District will not recommend or contact a private sewer contractor for you.
