The Vallejo Sanitation & Flood Control District's stormwater discharge ordinance prohibits discharge of any residential or industrial waste to storm drains, which flow directly to creeks and the San Francisco Bay. The storm drain system is separate from the sewer system. Pollution that enters storm drains is not removed before reaching the Bay. Storm drain violations carry a maximum penalty of $5,000 per day and possible imprisonment.
